Responding to
Jesus Christ in Faith means four simple things:
 |
BELIEVE
Do you
believe that Jesus is the Savior, God's
only Son, who came to earth to show us
God's love and die on the cross as a
sacrifice for the sin of all mankind.
|
"I've
written this to those who believe in
the Son of God so that they will know
that they have eternal life." ~
1 John 5:13
If you
can say yes, you have accomplished the first
step!
 |
REPENT
The word
repent means to change ones mind and
heart about God. If you believe, you
will want to trust God in every area
of your life and turn from doing things
your own way to believing and seeking
His way. Do you want this?
|
"Repent,
then, and turn to God, so that he will forgive
your sins. If you do, times of spiritual
strength will come from the Lord, and he
will send Jesus, who is the Messiah he has
already chosen for you." ~ Acts 3:19-20
Let God reveal
to you what needs to change in your life and
trust Him to give you the strength to change
it.
Congratulations!
You have accomplished step two.
 |
CONFESS
To confess
with your mouth means to tell a friend
or family member that you believe in
Jesus Christ and that you are going to
let him be the Lord (complete leader)
of your life from this day forward.
|
"That
if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord
and believe in your heart that God raised
Him from the dead, you will be saved; for
with the heart a person believes, resulting
in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses,
resulting in salvation." ~ Romans 10:9-10
Have you confessed
Jesus to others?
If yes, you have
accomplished step three.
 |
BAPTISM
The word "baptized" literally
means to "be immersed in water." While
there is nothing magical about being
dipped in water, there is incredible
strength in this act of faith.
|
"Peter
said to them, 'Each one of you must turn
away from your sins and be baptized in the
name of Jesus Christ, so that your sins will
be forgiven; and you will receive God's gift,
the Holy Spirit.'" ~ Acts 2:38
