The purpose
of MCC is "to glorify God and the Lord
Jesus Christ by making disciples who, motivated
by a love for God and people, worship God with
their lives, fellowship with other believers,
evangelize their pre-Christian family, friends,
and neighbors, strenghten themselves and other
believers by ministering to each other, and
participate in extending the message and mission
of Christ to all the world." (MCC Philosophy
of Ministry)
Missions is
one of the connections to the Great Commission
(Matthew 28:19-20) as given by Jesus to His
disciples and is a natural extension of the
Great Commandment (Mark 12:30-31) in sharing
God's love and hope in all parts of the world.
Missions is a significant part of the ministry
of MCC.
"Therefore
go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father and of the
Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching
them to obey everything I have commanded
you. And surely I am with you always, to
the very end of the age." ~ Matthew
28:19-20
PRIORITY
Two of the
priorities of the church are witness and missions.
-
The priority
of witness involves being a witness
to those around us of the work
God has done in our lives. It is
based on the assumptions that God
loves people (2 Peter 3:9), that
He commands us to be witnesses
(Matthew 28:19, Luke 4:23), and
that He desires the church to grow
(Acts 2:47)

PASSION
 |
At
MCC, we are passionate about launching
every follower of Christ into effective
ministry. In line with that goal, we
want to see our church become a fellowship
of world-minded Christians who glorify
God by obeying Christ's command to
make disciples of all nations. We want
to give every person in our church
the opportunity to worship God through
missions as an intercessor, as a sender,
or as a short-term or long-term missionary. |
THEREFORE
Given the
purpose, priority, and passion of our church,
we desire to send and support missionaries
to take the gospel to all peoples in the world.
We also desire to educate our local church
concerning the world's need for salvation in
Jesus Christ alone. Missions at MCC can be
defined as ministries that take place away
from our local church and are directed towards
evangelism, discipleship, church planting,
and church growth.
