We would like
to welcome you to Monmouth Christian Church.
We believe that sharing our love for God and
people is the number one commission of our
church. The following are principles and believes
our church. It is our desire to share these
beliefs with you so you can have a deeper understanding
of our commitment to and faith in God. If you
are seeking to know more about God please go
to Getting Started.
THE BIBLE
- We
believe that the Bible is infallibly
the Word of God, divinely inspired
and faithfully transmitted from generation
to generation by the people of God
and the Holy Spirit.
- We
believe that the Bible is authoritative
today in all things spiritual.
- We believe in
the Old Testament (Old Covenant) and the
New Testament (New Covenant). They both
give us examples of God's movement thru
relationships. We live and are guided by
the New Covenant principle.
GOD
- We
believe that God is the creator
of the universe. He is the creator of
mankind, our Heavenly Father. He is the
Holy Judge of all that man is
and does. He loves His creation with
a jealous love, and laments the fact
that our choice of sin has disrupted
our fellowship with Him.
JESUS CHRIST
- We
believe that Jesus is the Christ,
the Son of the living God; that His mother,
Mary, was a virgin; that He is God in the
flesh.
- We believe that
Jesus lived a sinless life, that he died
on the cross to pay the price for our sin
and that he rose from the dead, ascended
to heaven and waits to come again.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
- We
believe the Holy Spirit is God's
spirit who resides in the lives of those
who by voluntary submission have called
Jesus Lord. He leads the church and empowers
believers.
MANKIND
- We believe in
the ability of mankind to choose his destiny.
- We believe that
beyond a biblical faith we cannot require
Christians to hold a uniform view of anything
that is not clearly stated within scriptures
as a “Thus sayeth the Lord.” So
we declare, “In essentials Unity,
in opinions Liberty, and in all things
Love.”
We believe
in an open fellowship of faith as we understand
that there are many levels to and traditions
of the followers of Jesus Christ.
“We
are Christians only, but not the only Christians.”
We trust this
list of beliefs will bless and enrich your
fellowship with us.
